NOTES ON OCTOBER:

UNPACKED: A LITTLE GRATITUDE & WHAT’S AHEAD

NEWSLETTER

Hi There,

It’s been a little over a week since our unforgettable weekend. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all so much for traveling, celebrating, and sharing in the joy of our wedding weekend. Having all of our favorite people together in Southern California meant the world to us.

We hope you loved our little handmade candle favor! We’ve been making candles for a little over a year now, and we thought there was no better way to give you a warm souvenir from our special day. As we settle back into our apartment, we are sorting through all the wonderful memories and will be uploading photos to our online album soon for everyone to enjoy.

Next up on our agenda: planning our honeymoon! Thank you all so much for your generous gift contributions. We are so excited to get to work planning, and we can’t wait to share the amazing experiences that you helped make possible!

A massive thank you

We seriously couldn't have pulled this off without our incredible crew:

  • The Wedding Party: A huge thank you to our bridesmaids and groomsmen for doing an absolute stellar job from start to finish. You all set the mood, helped troubleshoot, feed us, and kept us smiling all weekend long. We are extremely grateful and the weekend could have not be what it was without you guys.

  • Special recognition:

    • Junior Mazariegos, you brought your PM and construction background to keep our wedding weekend running with military precision! We appreciate all that you brought to the table—plenty of class, lots of sass, and unforgettable moves on the dance floor!

    • Brenda Mazariegos, without you, Classic Cars would not have been what it was. Thank you for making it so special

Cheers to Our amazing Vendors

We loved working with every single one of these incredible professionals. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you'd like to connect or learn more about them:

  • OurStrings4You: Cello and violin duo providing stunning classic and contemporary music at our cocktail hour.

  • BWA (Boleros with Attitude): Brought the most incredible, soulful live music during dinner. It made Ash’s homage to her childhood with her grandma even more special.

  • Vincent from Extreme DJ: Kept the night lively, energetic, and fun all through Sunday!

  • Micha Yong Photography: Our Bay Area photographer is the sweetest, most vibrant, and extremely thoughtful artist.

  • Joseph E Mejia Media: Our brother, groomsmen, and videographer. Joe managed Luis and Andrew amazingly—we cannot recommend him enough!

  • Cindy Martinez: Beautiful make-up for Ash’s Friday event

  • Hollywood Classic Cars: Daren and his team were amazing! Super friendly, sweet and accommodating!

  • Hilton Pasadena: A wonderful experience working with their team—they were so friendly and understanding.

It Takes a Village:

The Women Who Shaped Ash

While everyone is excited for this next chapter of our lives, the people who laid the foundation don't always get recognized enough. Ash deeply loves and honors the amazing women who made her who she is today:

  • At a young age, Abuela taught Ash strength and determination. She is Ash’s role model and her story has inspired Ash to go as far as she can go. Abuela mitigated to the US, leaving her children in Nicaragua in pursuit of a bold promise for a better life. Through tireless hard work and unwavering prayers, she successfully brought all five of her children. Ash understands that Abuela walked so she could run.

  • Growing up with a young single mom, Ash learned firsthand about resilience. From early mornings and long commutes to the quiet sacrifices along the way, Ash’s unconventional upbringing forged a profound sense of purpose—instilling the focus to stay grounded and push forward. Mom taught humility and self-respect, instilling in Ash deep self-assurance, gratitude, and grace.

  • Ash’s aunts, Sandra and Karen, are secondary mothers who helped raise her, wrapping her in love and teaching her kindness, compassion, and lifelong values. Ash arrived in Sandra’s life at the exact right moment, and Sandra embraced her as her own daughter. Together with Karen—who raised her sons right alongside Ashley as true brothers—they built a home rooted in devotion. No matter the sacrifices or hurdles, her aunts were always there. From them, Ash inherited a deep sense of gratitude and learned what it means to give and receive unconditional love.

Hazel and Smudge were so excited to get back to familiar territory, though the warm weather definitely wore them out! Our poor kitties spent most of the time resting and keeping cool rather than exploring the backyard. But the cats are officially out of the bag again back home in the Bay! Smudge got a fresh new haircut, and they are both thoroughly enjoying the cooler air (and, of course, taking full ownership of all the boxes we still have to sort through)

THANK YOU

We can’t believe it’s over, but we have plenty of beautiful memories with you. We hope you all made it back safely and are well rested for the week ahead!

with love and gratitude,
